Marta Dorotėja Lekavičiūtė is an architecture student at Vilnius Academy of Arts with a background in interior design and work experience in urbanism. She holds a keen interest in working with local communities, vernacular architecture, and its adaptation today.
During the Experiments' Platform, Marta will focus on an environmental and architectural initiative. She aims to explore the sustainable use of river grass, typically cleared from waterways for aesthetic reasons but often discarded without purpose, and possibly other Vilnius’ and Paris’ local flora as viable architectural materials, involving local communities in building structures and engaging biologists to assess material durability. A significant outcome could be the creation of a river flora material library, transforming what might otherwise be composted into valuable construction resources.
